Lucas Morgan named All-Area player of the year for Sumner Spartans

Lucas Morgan has been recognized as The News Tribune’s 2026 All-Area high school boys soccer player of the year. Morgan's defensive prowess and leadership helped lead the Sumner Spartans to the Class 4A state championship game. He contributed significantly to the team's success, including nine shutouts and five goals throughout the season. Sumner reached the state final after winning its first three tournament games but ultimately fell to Eastmont. Morgan's calm demeanor and ability to make strategic decisions on the field were pivotal in Sumner's strong performance.
