Lucas Stassin leaves Saint-Étienne for a loan move to Sevilla

Forward Lucas Stassin is set to join La Liga side Sevilla on a paid loan deal worth €2.5 million. The 22-year-old Belgium international missed Saint-Étienne’s 3-2 victory over Dijon on Monday night as he traveled to finalize the transfer. The agreement includes an option for Sevilla to purchase the striker permanently for €25 million at the end of the season. Stassin joined Saint-Étienne from KVC Westerlo for €10 million in 2024 but remained with the club following their relegation from Ligue 1 last year. Despite the team's failure to secure promotion back to the top flight, Stassin continued to earn recognition as a Belgium international. This move allows the forward to return to first-division football after competing in the French second tier for the start of the current campaign.
