Luke Altmyer struggles in NFL preseason debut with Lions

Luke Altmyer made his NFL preseason debut with the Detroit Lions against the Cincinnati Bengals on August 14. Altmyer completed 13 of 22 passes for 130 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions during the game. After former teammate Teddy Bridgewater's retirement, Altmyer received more playing time as Jared Goff rested. His performance included a late touchdown and a successful two-point conversion, but he ultimately threw a critical interception in the closing seconds. The Lions will host the Washington Commanders on August 22.
