Luke Benstead joins Scotland coaching staff under Sebastien Pocognoli

Luke Benstead has joined the Scotland national team as an assistant coach, becoming part of the new backroom staff under manager Sebastien Pocognoli. Benstead arrives with experience from the Belgian national team, where he spent seven years as an assistant during their recent period of international success. Previously, he served as a performance analyst at Manchester United under manager Jose Mourinho and recently worked as an assistant and set-piece coach at Istanbul Basaksehir. Pocognoli cited Benstead’s balanced background in performance analysis and on-field coaching as a key reason for the appointment. In his new role with Scotland, Benstead will reunite with Scott McTominay, a player he worked with during his time at Manchester United. He is also expected to work with Scotland academy player Tyler Fletcher.
