Luke Sinnard and Cedric De Grandpre record 15 strikeouts for Braves affiliates

Atlanta Braves pitching prospects Luke Sinnard and Cedric De Grandpre combined for 15 strikeouts during their respective starts on Saturday. Despite the performance of the starting pitchers, both the Gwinnett Stripers and the Columbus Clingstones fell in their contests. The Stripers lost 2-0 to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp as the offense managed only four hits. De Grandpre allowed two solo home runs over five innings of work, while Gwinnett's lineup was held scoreless. Meanwhile, the Columbus Clingstones lost 5-4 to the Montgomery Biscuits in a game that reached extra innings. Sinnard recorded seven strikeouts over four and a third innings, allowing four runs on eight hits without issuing a walk. A two-run home run by Carson Taylor provided the primary offense for Columbus in the loss.
