Luton Town signs George Johnston from Bolton Wanderers

Luton Town has signed defender George Johnston, who captained Bolton Wanderers to promotion from League One last month. The 27-year-old joins Luton on an undisclosed length contract as the first signing of the summer for manager Jack Wilshere. Johnston, who made 191 appearances for Bolton, had recently become a priority for Luton after it was clear he would not stay with Bolton. Wilshere praised Johnston's qualities as a footballer and leader. The signing follows Johnston's successful conclusion to the season with Bolton, culminating in a playoff final victory against Stockport County on May 24.
