Lyra Valkyria confronts Bayley, stirring WWE exit speculation
Summary

During Monday Night RAW on July 20, 2026, Lyra Valkyria confronted Bayley, which fueled rumors about Bayley's future in WWE. Valkyria's remark regarding 'dropping the dead weight' alluded to Bayley's potential departure. Although Bayley recently lost to Valkyria at Saturday Night's Main Event, there has been no confirmation regarding her contract status or a possible re-signing. WWE's evolving narrative seems to suggest that Bayley may be transitioning out of the company amid tightened financial considerations by parent company TKO. Discussions about her future are amplified by teases from her friend, AEW's Mercedes Moné.

She was a veteran facing a recently-turned act WWE has high hopes for, so Bayley’s loss to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event last weekend wasn’t really seen as evidence of her imminent departure. It didn’t give any of us reason to think Bayley had re-signed or anything, though. Now it seems WWE may want us to think Bayley is on her way out, or are telling us she is. They did so in an interview scene during a break from the July 20 Raw (about the only time the women’s roster could get this week). Lyra interrupts Intercontinental champ Sol Ruca. As things start to get testy between the babyface title holder and the “unhinged” Irishwoman, Valkyria says: “I’m probably glowing because I dropped the dead weight when I ran Bayley outta here.” pic.twitter.com/ksE1C6i0il — fear / pride (@fear0verpride) July 21, 2026 Bayley’s role in WWE has diminished lately, and while she’s recognized as a trailblazer, the company’s never been seen her in the same light as her fellow NXT Horsewomen, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Moné back when she was Sasha Banks. With parent company TKO tightening its belt when it comes to anyone who isn’t a main event draw, an exit wouldn’t be shocking. But WWE has also made moves simply to prevent people from jumping ship… would they re-sign Bayley to keep a Mercedes Moné vs. Davina Rose match from happening in AEW? They don’t want us to think so. Let us know where you stand, on Bayley, or WWE hinting at her status in storyline.
