Mac McClung, a two-time G League MVP, is set to participate in the inaugural DUNKMAN league starting August 11, 2026. Despite his success in the G League, including becoming its all-time leading scorer, McClung has not secured a spot on any NBA roster after limited appearances with the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls. He is focusing on his skills while awaiting decisions for the upcoming season and sees the DUNKMAN league as a chance to showcase his talent in a unique format. The league aims to create a fresh platform for dunking, which commissioner Shaquille O'Neal has criticized as lacking innovation in the NBA's contests.

- •He signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Pacers in October 2025.
- •O'Neal's DUNKMAN league aims to improve on the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
- •The competition has garnered significant social media engagement.
- •The finals will take place on August 25, 2026.
