Mackay second in prelim at USA Outdoor Championships, Butler 14th

Emily Mackay placed second in the women's 1500-meter preliminary at the USA Outdoor Championships held at Icahn Stadium in New York City on July 23. She finished with a time of 4:04.29, securing a spot in the final scheduled for July 25. Lindsey Butler, another New York competitor, ranked 14th in the preliminary, finishing in 4:07.20, missing out on the final qualification. Addy Wiley recorded the fastest time in the heat at 4:04.17. Mackay, who is also competing in the women's 5,000 meters, is a former state champion and has participated in previous international competitions.
