Madison Chock, Evan Bates pause ice dance competition for upcoming season

Three-time Olympic medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates have announced they will not compete in the upcoming ice dance season. Bates indicated that the couple has focused heavily on their previous commitments, particularly their bronze medal performance in Milan, and now seek a break. They have won seven U.S. titles since partnering in 2011, including five consecutive championships. The duo, married in June 2024, has not committed to future competition, stating that it would depend on their desire to return. With their absence, Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik emerge as the top returning U.S. ice dance couple.
