Mads Pedersen wins stage four as Pogacar loses yellow jersey

Mads Pedersen took victory in stage four of the Tour de France, completing the 181.9km stage in 4 hours, 10 minutes, and 45 seconds. Defending champion Tadej Pogacar, who was 33rd in the stage, lost the yellow jersey after just one day and now sits fourth overall, trailing the new leader, Torstein Traeen, by nearly eight minutes. The high temperatures in southern France, reaching 40C, saw riders using ice to cope with the heat during the race. Traeen, who is now in the yellow jersey, finished eighth in the stage, creating a significant gap ahead of the main pack. The Tour continues with more stages ahead.
