Maika earns final spot in AEW TBS title match after defeating Skye Blue

This week’s (July 1) episode of AEW Dynamite features a 6-woman Survival of the Fittest elimination match, where the winner becomes the new TBS champion. Coming into tonight’s Forbidden Door event, five of the six spots have been filled out by Hikaru Shida, Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, Queen Aminata, and CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone. The final spot goes to the winner of tonight’s pre-show match between AEW’s Skye Blue and Stardom’s Maika. Maika was on top her game knowing that Stardom President Taro Okada was watching along closely in the front row. The Stardom talent was able to stun Blue with a suplex on the ring apron, and then followed up with her version of the Michinoku Driver to score the three count.
