Maikel Garcia returns to Royals roster after injury recovery

Maikel Garcia has been reinstated to the Kansas City Royals from the Injured List on September 15. The infielder was sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained on August 24, following a previous hand injury that kept him out earlier this summer. Garcia, who signed a five-year, $57 million contract extension last winter, has struggled this season, batting.269 with three home runs in 73 games. To create space for Garcia, the Royals optioned outfielder Matthew Lugo to Triple-A Omaha.
