Maldini strengthens Cagliari's offense in early Serie A season

Summary

Daniel Maldini has made a significant impact with Cagliari in the 2026-27 Serie A season, scoring four goals in six matches. His recent form has contributed to discussions about his loan from Atalanta, which includes an option to buy for €8 million. The buy option could become mandatory if he reaches a specific goal tally, believed to be fewer than ten goals. Currently, he is the first Italian player in over seven years to score in four consecutive Serie A matches since Moise Kean. Cagliari initially secured Maldini for around €1 million during the summer transfer window.
