Malik Willis assumes starting quarterback role for the Miami Dolphins in 2026

Summary

The Miami Dolphins entered the 2026 season with Malik Willis as the starting quarterback. The team signed Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million contract following his previous tenure with the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans. This change follows the departure of long-time quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins also moved on from key playmakers Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Darren Waller during the offseason. Willis now leads an offense featuring De'Von Achane, Malik Washington, and Greg Dulcich, alongside a group of rookie wide receivers. Analyst Seth Walder projects Willis to finish among the top 12 quarterbacks in QBR, citing his ability to contribute as a runner despite the lack of established veteran receiving options.
