Malik Willis makes regular-season debut for Miami Dolphins against Raiders

Malik Willis enters his first regular-season game as the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. The team plays the Las Vegas Raiders to open the season with Willis officially taking over the offense. Signed as a free agent from the Green Bay Packers, Willis is currently viewed as a potential stop-gap option for the organization while they look toward future quarterback needs. General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and Coach Jeff Hafley, who previously worked with Willis in Green Bay, hold the responsibility for his integration into the roster. He signed a three-year, $67.5 million contract with Miami during the offseason. Willis previously spent time with the Tennessee Titans and served as a backup to Jordan Love.
