Former Manly Sea Eagles player Manase Fainu will be released on parole after serving over four years of an eight-year sentence for wounding a person with intent to cause bodily harm. Fainu, 28, hopes to return to rugby league, having expressed interest in playing again since May. While he sought permission to play for the Alexandria Rovers earlier this year, the NSWRL denied his request. Upon release, he must comply with strict conditions, including not contacting the victim. His full head sentence is due to expire in July 2030.
