Manchester City pursues Germany international Carlotta Wamser for summer transfer

Manchester City is attempting to sign Bayer Leverkusen full-back Carlotta Wamser ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline next Friday. The 22-year-old was absent from the Leverkusen matchday squad during their recent Frauen-Bundesliga game against Wolfsburg. City officials are seeking reinforcements as they manage a series of injuries to first-team players, including Jade Rose, Niamh Charles, Grace Clinton, and Vivianne Miedema. If the transfer succeeds, Wamser would join the club following the earlier additions of Beth Mead and Niamh Charles. The club has seen four players depart this summer, including goalkeepers Khiara Keating and Katie Startup. This recruitment effort follows City's recent qualification for the Women's Champions League and a 2-0 friendly win over Manchester United on August 29.
