Manchester City secures third consecutive victory against Coventry City
Summary

Manchester City defeated Coventry City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on September 5, 2026. Erling Haaland provided the only goal of the match in the 26th minute, connecting on a cross from teammate Antoine Semenyo. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made three crucial saves to preserve the narrow lead for the hosts throughout the contest. This result marks three straight wins for the side to open their 2026-27 Premier League campaign. While the team secured the points, manager Enzo Maresca’s squad faced pressure from a persistent Coventry City attack that nearly capitalized on an early defensive error. Elliot Anderson earned man-of-the-match honors for his performance in the midfield.
