Manchester United activates Youri Tielemans' £35 million release clause
Summary

Manchester United has activated the £35 million release clause for Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans as of July 13, 2026. This decision follows an unsuccessful attempt to sign Brazilian midfielder Éderson, who could not complete a medical evaluation. Tielemans, with Premier League experience, had previously played 35 matches for Villa last season, scoring two goals and providing seven assists. He also represented Belgium at the 2026 World Cup, scoring twice against Senegal during the knockout stage. Reports indicate that Tielemans has a verbal agreement to proceed with the move.
