Manchester United considers Sandro Tonali as midfield target amid City interest

Manchester United has identified Sandro Tonali of Newcastle United as a leading midfield target as they seek to bolster their squad. Reports indicate that United manager Michael Carrick views Tonali as a priority, especially after failing to secure Elliot Anderson, who prefers a move to Manchester City. City is currently negotiating with Nottingham Forest regarding Anderson, with their initial bid rejected. Should City’s pursuit of Anderson fail, Tonali might also emerge as an option for them, increasing competition for United. The urgency for United is heightened as they have yet to initiate talks with Newcastle for Tonali.
