Manchester United prepares to host Sabah in 300th European Cup match

Manchester United hosts Azerbaijani side Sabah on Thursday to begin its Champions League campaign. This match represents the 300th European Cup appearance for the club, making it the first English team to reach this milestone. United returns to the competition after a two-year absence and seeks a victory to build momentum following a 2-2 draw against Everton last weekend. Michael Carrick manages the squad, which holds the record for most participations in the Champions League proper among English clubs with 26 appearances. While the team aims to establish a points buffer to advance to the knockout stages, it enters the game looking to improve a recent record of one win in its last seven group stage or league phase matches.
