Manchester United pursuing Mateus Fernandes amid Arsenal and Real Madrid interest

Summary

Manchester United is in an advantageous position to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United for around £80 million, according to multiple reports. With West Ham's relegation to the Championship, the club has less leverage in negotiations. Arsenal has shown interest but is hesitant to meet West Ham's asking price, while Real Madrid has entered the conversation, requested by José Mourinho. Fernandes's strong performance in the Premier League suggests he could be a significant addition to United's midfield. The club's focus on improving their roster under manager Michael Carrick makes this transfer a priority this summer.
