Manchester United reevaluates midfield targets after Anderson price increase

Summary

Manchester United adjusts its transfer strategy in light of Nottingham Forest rejecting a £120m offer for Elliot Anderson. With financial limits set, United is considering alternatives like Mateus Fernandes and Alex Scott, though both have significant price tags. The club's recent decisions, including Jadon Sancho's free agent exit, reflect ongoing issues in squad planning. Discussions around goalkeeper options and Marcus Rashford's future further complicate the summer ahead for United as they seek to build a more sustainable squad. The focus appears to be on correcting past mistakes rather than making high-profile signings.
