Manchester United reports financial results, reveals Amorim pay-off

Manchester United disclosed a pay-off of £8.5m to Ruben Amorim following his sacking in January after 14 months as manager. The decision was made after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Leeds. United's revenue for the year ending June 30 reached £677.6m despite not participating in European competitions, though the club recorded a pre-tax loss of nearly £47m. Chief executive Omar Berrada commented on the record revenues, attributing them to the club's popular commercial strength. United's wage bill decreased by £11.3m due to squad changes and headcount reductions.
