Manchester United striker Chido Obi holds loan talks with Willem II

Manchester United forward Chido Obi is in negotiations regarding a potential loan move to Eredivisie club Willem II. The 18-year-old has struggled for consistent first-team action since his promotion under Ruben Amorim at the end of the 2024-25 season. Obi made only one appearance on the bench last campaign and has been excluded from the matchday squads for the club's opening Premier League 2 fixtures this season. He previously featured for the under-21 squad and participated in the club's pre-season match against Rosenborg in July. A potential transfer to the Bundesliga side Cologne fell through earlier this summer when the German club opted to sign Reigan Heskey instead. The Eredivisie transfer window remains open until Wednesday evening.
