Manchester United tops Lausanne-Sport 2-1 in friendly match at Carrington

Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory over Lausanne-Sport in a closed doors friendly at Carrington on October 2. The match marked Carlos Baleba's first appearance for United after his summer transfer from Brighton, as he and Matthijs de Ligt started alongside senior players Matheus Cunha and Harry Maguire. This friendly aimed to enhance the fitness of those not on international duty, with United 10 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City at the break. The encounter served as a platform for Baleba to recover from an ankle injury sustained prior to his transfer and for De Ligt to continue his rehabilitation from back surgery in May.
