Manchester United weighs move for Fulham defender Calvin Bassey

Manchester United is considering a transfer for Fulham defender Calvin Bassey as part of a defensive rebuild. Bassey, who has had a strong season under Fulham's manager Alvaro Arbeloa, is seen as a versatile option, able to play both centre-back and left-back. With key defenders such as Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, and Harry Maguire facing expiring contracts, United is assessing its defensive needs. Competition for Bassey's signature is expected, with interest also coming from Newcastle United and Everton, among others. Details about Fulham's approach to retaining Bassey remain unconfirmed, but his influence at the club has been noted as significant.
