Manchester United's Marcus Rashford transfer discussions stall with Barcelona

Summary

Manchester United's plans for the summer transfer window hinge on the future of Marcus Rashford. Discussions with Barcelona for a permanent transfer have stagnated, complicating United's summer strategy. Initially anticipated as a straightforward £24 million deal, Barcelona's financial adjustments, including a £70 million spend on Anthony Gordon, have altered their stance. United's management remains firm against restructured offers, aiming to clear Rashford's substantial salary from their payroll. With Rashford under contract until 2028 and reluctant to return to United, uncertainty looms over both his future and the club's recruitment plans.
