Mancini departs Al Sadd, eyes potential return to Italy coaching job
Summary

Roberto Mancini has left Al Sadd after eight months in charge. His departure fuels speculation regarding a return to coach the Italy national team, a role he held from 2018 to 2023. Mancini led the team to victory in Euro 2020 but faced criticism for failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. His relationship with Giovanni Malagò, a candidate for FIGC Presidency, suggests he may be favored for the national team position. The FIGC plans to name a new head coach after the election on June 22, 2026.
