Manly Sea Eagles appoint Stephen Hansen as football performance director

The Manly Sea Eagles have appointed former All Blacks head coach Stephen Hansen as the club's new football performance director starting in 2027. Hansen joins the Northern Beaches club to work alongside head coach Kieran Foran and chief executive Jason King. The move follows a 2026 season where the Sea Eagles finished in ninth place after missing the finals for the second consecutive year. During his tenure as head coach of New Zealand's international rugby side from 2012 to 2019, Hansen maintained an 87 percent winning rate and secured the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The club will commence preseason training in two months to prepare for the upcoming campaign under the new leadership structure.
