Mansoor Delane starts first preseason game for Chiefs against Buccaneers

Mansoor Delane made his first preseason start for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 23. Limited by a shoulder injury in training camp, Delane played the entire first quarter but did not record any tackles or pass defenses. He faced wide receiver Kameron Johnson in man coverage and was involved in a pivotal play after an unnecessary roughness call was drawn against Buccaneers tight end Ted Hurst. The Chiefs' defense impressed in the first half, shutting out Tampa Bay before allowing a second-half surge from Buccaneers backups.
