Maple Leafs and Red Wings linked as trade speculation rises after Draper sighting

Kris Draper's recent attendance at a Toronto Maple Leafs game has prompted speculation regarding a potential trade with the Detroit Red Wings. Draper, the Red Wings' assistant GM, was observed at the matchup between the Maple Leafs and the Utah Mammoth. Sources suggest Toronto is interested in adding defenseman Simon Edvinsson, while the Mammoth are pursuing other players. The Maple Leafs seek to bolster their blue line with younger talent amid ongoing discussions surrounding multiple players from Detroit. No imminent deals are reported, but Draper’s presence raises questions about Toronto's specific interests and potential trade packages.
