Maracanã to host 2027 Women’s World Cup final in historic venue

FIFA has announced that the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro will host both the opening match and final of the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The Maracanã, renowned for its rich soccer history, will become the only venue to host a World Cup final, a Women's World Cup final, and an Olympic women's soccer gold medal match. With a capacity of 73,139, it is known for iconic matches, including the 1950 World Cup final and other significant tournaments. The stadium aims to celebrate the women’s game by giging the final the prominent platform it deserves next summer.
