Marathon honors Kristina Zell with second annual Running With The Rapids event

Track & FieldThe second annual Running With The Rapids race is scheduled for Aug. 16 in Niagara Falls, one day before what would have been Kristina Zell’s 51st birthday. The event includes 5K and 10K races, as well as a 1-mile walk. Zell, a beloved detective with the Niagara Falls Police, passed away in November 2022 after a COVID-19-related illness. Race organizers aim to honor her legacy and support the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, an organization Zell worked with during her law enforcement career.
