Marc Marquez recognizes Pedro Acosta as MotoGP championship contender

Marc Marquez highlighted Pedro Acosta's status as a genuine contender for the 2026 MotoGP title after Acosta's first premier-class victory at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Factory KTM rider dominated the race from third on the grid, moving into fourth place in the standings, 72 points behind leader Jorge Martin. Marquez noted that since the summer break, he, Martin, and Marco Bezzecchi had started to separate from the competition, but Acosta's performance indicates he can compete for the championship as well.
