Marco Battaglia, a former Rutgers star, has been selected for the 1990s Sporting News All-Decade Team. Known for his significant contributions to Rutgers football, Battaglia earned consensus All-American honors during his senior season in 1995. That year, he led the nation’s tight ends with 69 receptions, 894 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns, and became the first tight end to be named Big East Conference Player of the Year. His standout performance against Penn State is one of the most memorable moments in Rutgers history. Battaglia continues to support the university, which named its football practice complex after him.
