Marcus Stokes evaluates his performance after first Memphis start

Summary

Marcus Stokes led the Memphis Tigers to a 27-21 win over UNLV in his first start as the team's quarterback. Stokes recorded 223 passing yards and two touchdowns while adding 45 rushing yards during the season opener. Although he navigated initial nerves and some missed throws, he successfully managed the offense's run-pass option scheme. Head coach Huff noted that Stokes made effective reads despite some uncertainty from the coaching staff during the game. Memphis overcame a halftime deficit to finish the contest, utilizing a conditioning program designed to build strength for fourth-quarter play. The team now turns its attention to a home game against Arkansas State on Saturday.
