Maresca defends Donnarumma amid scrutiny following Villa loss

Summary

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca voiced support for Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marc Guehi after both players faced criticism for errors in a recent match against Aston Villa, which ended City's perfect start to the Premier League season. The duo's struggles prompted Maresca to allow them, along with Erling Haaland and others, to take a three-day holiday to recover. In emphasizing that individual mistakes are inevitable in a demanding schedule, Maresca reaffirmed his players' resilience and acknowledged their performance.
