Marileidy Paulino sets ATHLOS record with 400m victory in London

Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic secured the women's 400m title at ATHLOS London on September 18, finishing in 48.73 seconds. This performance not only marked a new meeting record but also extended her unbeaten streak for the 2026 season. Paulino, who started the race slow, made a strong surge in the final stretch, overtaking Norway’s Henriette Jæger, who finished just behind at 48.78 seconds. With this victory, Paulino tied the all-time record for 400-meter races under 49 seconds, achieving it for the 15th time in her career, eight of which occurred this season. The event featured increased prize money and attracted a strong field of competitors, including notable performances from Sha’Carri Richardson in the women's 100m.
