Mariners change pitching plan for game against Guardians on Saturday

Summary

The Seattle Mariners have altered their pitching strategy ahead of their game against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. Instead of a piggyback outing featuring Logan Gilbert and Emerson Hancock, Gilbert will start, while Hancock is now set to pitch in the series finale on Sunday. Manager Dan Wilson cited the need to give starters an extra day of rest, linking the decision to Gilbert's recent performance, which includes a 2.19 ERA in four June starts. The Mariners have been adjusting their rotation frequently this season, oscillating between a six-man rotation and piggyback outings.
