Mark Briscoe is reportedly out of action indefinitely due to an injury sustained after his match against MJF for the AEW world championship on July 1. Sources confirm that Briscoe's injury is not part of a storyline, contradicting initial assumptions. The injury follows a grueling 12-man steel cage match at AEW Forbidden Door just days prior. The Conglomeration stated they are unsure when Briscoe will return to the ring. Updates regarding his condition and potential recovery timeline are awaited as AEW's major event All In London approaches at the end of August.

- 9:00 PMCageside Seats — Report: Mark Briscoe’s injury is not a work
"On this week’s (July 1) episode of Dynamite, Mark Briscoe came up short when he challenged MJF for the AEW world championship. This match took place just days after Briscoe competed in a bloody “Death’s Door” 12-man steel cage war at the AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. There was a segment on Thursday’s (July 2) Collision where The Conglomeration claimed that Briscoe is out of action indefinitely due to injury: “Because of his injuries, we don’t know when we’re gonna see Mark again.” A battered and bruised Conglomeration (@OrangeCassidy, @KORCombat, @RoderickStrong & Konosuke Takeshita) regroup after an eventful few days! Watch #AEWCollision on TNT & HBO Max pic.twitter.com/cywOvn8EoB — All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) July 3, 2026 Collision was taped right after Dynamite went off the air, so there wasn’t much real time in between Briscoe’s world title match and when this backstage segment was shot. That’s the main reason why I assumed The Conglomeration’s story about Mark’s injury was a work. However, F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez reports today that Briscoe really is injured: “Not sure what the injury is, but Mark Briscoe injury is legit. All the best to him.” Hopefully it’s just a minor issue and Mark will be back in time for AEW’s biggest show of the year, All In London, at the end of August. But all we can do is speculate on his status for now as we await any updates on his injury and return timeline. What’s your reaction to this report about Mark Briscoe’s shoot injury, Cagesiders?
