On this week’s (July 1) episode of Dynamite, Mark Briscoe came up short when he challenged MJF for the AEW world championship. This match took place just days after Briscoe competed in a bloody “Death’s Door” 12-man steel cage war at the AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. There was a segment on Thursday’s (July 2) Collision where The Conglomeration claimed that Briscoe is out of action indefinitely due to injury: “Because of his injuries, we don’t know when we’re gonna see Mark again.” A battered and bruised Conglomeration (@OrangeCassidy, @KORCombat, @RoderickStrong & Konosuke Takeshita) regroup after an eventful few days! That’s the main reason why I assumed The Conglomeration’s story about Mark’s injury was a work. However, F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez reports today that Briscoe really is injured: “Not sure what the injury is, but Mark Briscoe injury is legit. All the best to him.” Hopefully it’s just a minor issue and Mark will be back in time for AEW’s biggest show of the year, All In London, at the end of August.
