Mark Vientos returns to the New York Mets lineup against the Rays

Mark Vientos returns to the New York Mets lineup for Monday's series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Vientos, who was reinstated from the injured list after recovering from a fractured right wrist, is set to start as the designated hitter in the 6:40 p.m. matchup. The roster move follows the departure of Luis Robert Jr., who was claimed off waivers by the Orioles. On the mound, the Mets send Robert Stock to start against Rays left-hander Ian Seymour. The Mets enter the series following back-to-back losses against the Astros, including a 6-3 defeat on Sunday. Christopher Morel will also enter the lineup to start in left field while Juan Soto receives a scheduled night off.
