Marlen Reusser wins second consecutive time trial world title in Montreal

Marlen Reusser captured her second consecutive world title in the women's road racing individual time trial on September 20 in Montreal. The Swiss cyclist, celebrating her 35th birthday, finished the 39.2-kilometer course in 50 minutes 24.44 seconds, outpacing silver medalist Zoe Bäckstedt of Great Britain by over 40 seconds. Reusser struggled early in the race but gained momentum in the final kilometers, finishing strong enough to pass other competitors, including Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering. The event included both women's and men's individual time trials, with the men's race occurring later the same day.
