Jourdain was aiming for his fourth straight win, but was repeatedly beaten to the punch by Vera, who battered the Canadian contender with strikes for the majority of the contest. In the final frame, Vera poured it on, knocking Jourdain down again. Jourdain signaled to referee Mike Beltran that he could not continue, bringing a stop to the contest at the official time of 2:02 into Round 3. Vera (24-12-1) wins for the first time since a decision nod over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292 in August 2023. Afterwards, an emotional Vera spoke about how badly needed the result and credited a change in training camps for his improvements.
