Maro Itoje returns to 36-man England training squad for autumn matches

Maro Itoje has been named in England’s 36-man training squad as the team prepares for the upcoming Nations Championship. The Saracens forward returns to the international set-up after missing the summer series against South Africa, Fiji, and Argentina to take his first significant break from rugby in more than a decade. While Jamie George currently holds the captaincy, reports indicate that Itoje is expected to reclaim the role ahead of the match against Australia on 8 November. The squad, which gathers this Sunday, includes both George and Ollie Chessum despite both players currently managing injuries. Courtney Lawes and Joe Marchant were not included in the selection. England is scheduled to face Australia, Japan, and New Zealand throughout November.
