Marquette defeated St. Thomas 2-0 at Valley Fields on Wednesday night. Mads Konrad Horgoien opened the scoring for the Golden Eagles with a penalty kick in the 34th minute after a foul on Tomiwa Adewumi was confirmed by VAR. Joey Buchanan added an insurance goal in the 74th minute, redirecting a pass from Ryan Amond into the net. Goalkeeper Cameron Simpson earned his second shutout of the season, recording one save during the match. The win moves Marquette to a 4-1-1 record for the season. The Golden Eagles return to play on Saturday, September 12, at 1 p.m. Central time when they host Southern Indiana at Valley Fields.
