Marquette women's basketball signs forward Amina Traore for 2026-27 season

Marquette University head coach Cara Consuegra announced the signing of Amina Traore to the women’s basketball program on Monday. Traore, a 6’2” center from Paris, France, joins the Golden Eagles roster as the team prepares for the 2026-27 season. She previously played for Monaco BA in the French LF2 league, where she appeared in 21 games during the 2025-26 season. Her background includes international experience representing France at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup and the 2022 FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship. Consuegra noted Traore’s defensive capabilities and versatility as key factors in her addition to the team. The program currently holds three open roster spots as the coaching staff continues to shape the team following the previous season.
