Marseille records zero signings during the summer transfer window

Olympique de Marseille concluded the summer transfer window without signing a new player. The club is the only team in Europe's top five leagues, excluding Athletic Club, to have made zero additions to its squad this summer. Management focused primarily on reducing the club’s wage bill, leading to the departure of eight players, including Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. These exits generated approximately €80 million in total fees. According to Transfermarkt data, the total squad value fell from €484.8 million at the end of last season to €181.8 million. While the current roster is considered capable of competing in Ligue 1, concerns remain regarding the lack of squad depth for domestic and European cup competitions. Marseille may look to make further personnel adjustments during the winter transfer period.
