Maryland football faces challenges as coach Locksley struggles

Summary

Maryland football is in a difficult situation, with coach Mike Locksley under pressure after two consecutive 4-8 seasons. Despite securing a five-year, $6 million contract following a successful stretch from 2021 to 2023, the team has recently faltered without key players. Locksley's deep ties to the program complicate calls for his firing, particularly as he helped elevate Maryland football before their recent struggles. As the season progresses, uncertainty surrounds the team's future.
